Quick Answer
The Elton 60 – Live at Madison Square Garden 2DVD captures a historic birthday concert with a setlist spanning hits and fan favorites, making it a worthwhile addition for collectors and casual fans alike.
Why the 2007 MSG Concert Matters
Recorded on Elton John's 60th birthday, 25 March 2007, this performance also marked his record-setting 60th concert at Madison Square Garden. That double milestone gives the DVD a unique historical weight beyond just a typical live recording.
The 2-disc format provides room for both the full concert and likely bonus material, though the exact bonus features are not specified in the catalog. If you're a completist, the historical significance alone may justify the purchase.
What to Expect from the Setlist
According to the catalog, the concert includes some of Elton's biggest hits and several fan favorites. The tracklist opens with 'Sixty Years On,' a fitting nod to the occasion, and continues with classics like 'Madman Across The Water' and 'Where to Now St. Peter?'.
Because the full tracklist is not provided, you won't know every song until you watch. If you're hoping for a specific deep cut, you may want to check the complete tracklist elsewhere before buying.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this the full concert?
- The catalog describes the set as a 2-disc DVD release, which typically allows for the complete concert. Check the back cover or official tracklist if you need every song confirmed before buying.
- What songs are on the DVD?
- The known tracks include 'Sixty Years On,' 'Madman Across The Water,' and 'Where to Now St. Peter?' The catalog also mentions 'some of his biggest hits and even several fan favorites,' but the complete tracklist is not provided. If a specific song is a deal-breaker, look up the full tracklist online before ordering.
- Is the 2DVD worth it for casual fans?
- If you enjoy live performances and want a piece of Elton John history, the 2-disc set offers good value, especially at its current price.
