Goodbye Yellow Brick Road DVD: Bonus Features Explained

Quick answer

The Goodbye Yellow Brick Road DVD includes a feature-length documentary with exclusive interviews from Elton John, Bernie Taupin, and key collaborators, plus a pseudo-concert experience and menu navigation.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the documentary?

The documentary layer (Layer 1) runs approximately the length of a feature film, though the exact runtime is not specified in the catalog. It covers the album's creation, legacy, and cultural impact.

What is on the second layer of the DVD?

Layer 2 contains a menu-driven pseudo-concert experience that presents the album's songs in a visual format. It is not a full live concert but rather an interactive way to experience the music with accompanying visuals. If you want a full live performance, this may not satisfy that need; it is more of a visual companion.

Are there any bonus features like deleted scenes or music videos?

The catalog only specifies the documentary and the pseudo-concert as the main content layers. No additional deleted scenes, music videos, or Easter eggs are listed, so do not expect a packed extras menu. Focus on the documentary as the primary bonus feature; it is the main draw.

Is this DVD suitable for new fans or only collectors?

Both. New fans will appreciate the deep dive into the album's history and the personalities involved, while longtime collectors will value the exclusive interviews and rare archival content that is not available elsewhere.
