Honky Château Remastered LP

The remaster really opens up "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatter Girls" — you can hear the piano pedals and the room around the band in a way my old pressing never gave me. Picked it up for the 50th anniversary of the Taupin partnership and it's a lovely piece to own.

Finally grabbed this reissue after years of streaming the album, and hearing it on vinyl is a whole different thing. The quiet passages on Rocket Man come through so clean it's like I'm hearing the piano for the first time.

The remaster on this pressing finally gives Rocket Man the warmth the old CD was missing, and the vinyl itself is dead quiet between tracks. Spinning side two with headphones on, I caught little piano details I'd never noticed in twenty years of listening.
